In brief
Blake Street Station is in the Hill Hook area of Sutton, Coldfield, Birmingham, and is the last station in Birmingham, West Midlands, before Cross City Lines enter Staffordshire on the journey towards Lichfield. The London and North Western Railway opened a station here in 1884, extending their Birmingham to Sutton Coldfield line to Lichfield. In 1978, Blake Street became one of the stations to be part of the (then) new Cross City Line between Redditch and Lichfield City. The northern end was extended to Lichfield Trent Valley in 1988. The line was electrified in 1992. There is four trains an hour in both directions from Monday to Saturday each week, while trains are every half an hour in both directions on Sunday's.
