In brief
The former Grand Junction Railway opened a station at Witton in 1837 on the Birmingham to Walsall line. The line through the station was electrified in 1966. The station is on the Witton Road, and is the closest of two stations to Villa Park, home of Aston Villa FC. The ticket office was closed by 2013 so the station is now unmanned. Trains are every 30 minutes on the Walsall to Wolverhampton via Birmingham New Street Line (in both directions). Services are every 60 minutes on Sunday's and in the evenings. The line was used by Class 323 Electric Multiple Units, but is now used by the Class 350's.

Since West Midlands Trains took over from London Midland in late 2017, the Walsall to Rugeley Trent Valley electrification was complete, and they now use London Northwestern Railway Class 350's (under West Midlands Railway). Those trains usually go via the Soho Loop. But trains from Wolverhampton go via Birmingham New Street towards Walsall, which was formerly used by the Class 323's (normally on the Cross City Line).
