Where is Bournville Station?

Bournville Station is between Bournville Lane and Mary Vale Road, Bournville, Birmingham, B30 1LG

In brief

The station opened as the temporary southern terminus of the Birmingham West Suburban Railway in 1876. It was originally called Stirchley Street. The station runs next to the Worcester & Birmingham Canal. When the Cadbury Bournville Factory opened in 1879, the station was renamed to Stirchley Street and Bournville. By 1885 the line was extended to Birmingham New Street. The station was renamed to Bournville in 1904. It became part of the Cross City Line in 1978 under British Rail, with the architect being John Broome (who also designed other stations on the line at the same time). The line through the station was electrified by 1993. Today the station is being promoted as that to catch to visit Cadbury World nearby. Class 323 Electric Multiple Unit trains are on the line. The station has entrances at Mary Vale Road and to the station building on Bournville Lane. Trains are every 10 minutes on Monday to Saturday, while every half an hour on Sunday's.
