In brief

The Great Western Railway opened a station at Old Hill in 1866, on the line from Birmingham Snow Hill to Stourbridge Junction. There used to be another line from Dudley via Halesowen and Longbridge, and another on the Bumble Hole Line (which closed in 1964). Usually a train every half an hour in both directions.

The original timber station buildings were damaged by a fire in September 1967, which prompted a modernisation of the station, with a new building opening in May 1968.
