Where is Yardley Wood Station?

In brief

The former Great Western Railway opened a station here in 1908 as Yardley Wood Platform (the suffix was later dropped). Most of the original station buildings are still intact. The station is more in Hall Green than Yardley Wood, but is close to three parts of the Shire Country Park (including the Trittiford Mill Pool, The Dingles and Chinn Brook Meadows). There is three trains an hour in both directions from Monday to Saturday each week, with one train an hour each direction on Sunday's.

You can pick up a free copy of the Metro newspaper from outside the station building. Is also a Smartcard reader here.

There is a ticket machine next to the station building. Useful if the station building is closed. But these days you can also buy an e-Ticket in the West Midlands Railway app instead.
