In brief
The station opened in 1940 as Canley Halt. The 'Halt' suffix was dropped by 1968. It was built to serve the Standard Motor Company works nearby, with platforms long enough for eight coaches. The original station buildings was rebuilt in 1995. A level crossing was removed in 2004 when the road was closed, and replaced with a footbridge. There is usually two trains per hour each way between Birmingham New Street and London Euston (some services go via Northampton).
