Tame Bridge Parkway Station - A Sandwell & West Midlands Gem!

Tame Bridge Parkway Station is on the Walsall line in Sandwell, close to the Tame Valley Canal, River Tame and M6 motorways. It was opened in 1990.

Where is Tame Bridge Parkway Station?

Tame Bridge Parkway Station is at Walsall Road, Friar Park, Wednesbury, West Midlands, WS10 0LD

In brief

British Rail opened the station in 1990. It is in the Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell, on the Birmingham New Street to Walsall Line, formerly part of the Grand Junction Railway which opened in 1837. It takes it's name from the nearby River Tame. It is also close to the Tame Valley Canal and the junction of the M5 and M6 motorways.

Tame Bridge Parkway Station - details

Services at Tame Bridge Parkway are quite frequent from Mondays to Saturdays.

London Midland ran services here until 2017, when it was taken over by West Midlands Trains, using the West Midlands Railway brand, but mostly using the London Northwestern Railway brand.

The line is electrified, under London Midland, they used to use Class 323's towards Walsall, but since the line to Rugeley was electrified (beyond Walsall), their successor West Midlands Trains now uses Class 350's.

Grand Junction Aqueduct

The Grand Junction Aqueduct, also called Aqueduct 4, is on the Tame Valley Canal, and it crosses the Birmingham to Walsall railway line, near Tame Bridge Parkway Station.

On leaving the station, just head around Walsall Road, then to Navigation Lane, then head up the path to the towpath. The aqueduct is a short distance away, and if you are lucky, you might see a train at the station below.
